I studied mathematics and physics at Indiana University and completed a PhD in physics at the University of Chicago.

Research taught me to be comfortable with difficult questions, incomplete information, and the long interval between starting a problem and understanding it. After graduate school, I moved into technology and entrepreneurship, where those habits proved unexpectedly transferable.

I cofounded Polycam, a company that makes three-dimensional capture broadly accessible, and I remain a member of its board. After Polycam became profitable and reached $20 million in annual revenue, I stepped away from day-to-day responsibilities to focus on what came next.

That next company is Darwin, which I cofounded. Darwin is a consumer healthcare company working to make healthcare products and services easier to access directly, with as little friction as possible and without assuming access to insurance. I’m also working on Evo, a Darwin subsidiary taking a software-first approach to many of the same problems in healthcare. It is still early, so that is as much detail as belongs online for now.
